Marjo
Close to Marjo's heart is a Nkisi Nkondi (nail fetish), a symbol from Congo, where she was born. "It gives me strength. When the nails are hammered into a Nkisi, there's strength built up inside. I added fabric because I am a textile artist, and these small pieces of fabric also originate from Congo. They come from a Ntchak, a ceremonial skirt that my mother gave me, made of seven meters of fabric woven around the time I was born."
